Mary Frances Perez passed away on July 20, 2025, at the age of 85. She was born on September 21, 1939, to Oscar and Faye Golden in Mena, Arkansas. When she was six years old, her family relocated to Claypool, Arizona.

Frances graduated from Miami High School in 1957 and later moved to Phoenix, Arizona. Eventually, she returned to her hometown of Claypool. Throughout her life, she held various jobs, but one of her most fulfilling roles was working in the cafeteria at Globe High School. After retiring, she found renewed purpose and joy as a door greeter at Fry's and Walmart, where her vibrant personality and kindness touched the lives of many.

Frances cherished spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed attending their sporting events and school functions. Her face would light up whenever her youngest great-grandson came over to play with cars or chase the cats around the house. An animal lover at heart, she was well-known for rescuing stray cats. She was always ready for an adventure, particularly if it involved going to casinos. Additionally, Frances was a fantastic cook and enjoyed painting ceramics and crafting.

Frances is preceded in death by her loving parents, her daughter Theresa Basurto, and her sisters Peggy Howell, Ruth Jimenez, and Louise Fox, all of whom held a special place in her heart.

She is survived by her husband, Lupe Perez; her son, Mike Golden; her daughter, Linda Sainz; five grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; her sister, Susie Andress; and many nieces and nephews.
