The Globe High School Lady Tigers wrapped up the season with a 3-0 sweep of the visiting San Carlos Lady Braves on Senior Night last week.
The Lady Tigers won 25-15, 25-10 and 25-13 to finish the season 9-6, narrowly missing out on the Conference Play-In postseason tournament.
“We played well but it was hard to get a lot of energy going,” said Globe head coach Lisa Hansen. “The season overall was really good. This was our second most-winning season and we finished much stronger than in the past.”
Globe graduates Kaydance Tober, Taylor Oddonetto, Paxton Hansen and Sonia Pichardo.
“We are going to miss them,” said Coach Hansen. “They grew and developed. (Tober) had her coordination and timing come on this year, Paxton came on with strong blocking, Taylor finished as a hustler with setting, and Sonia was strong on the outside and brought the team together.”
Coach Hansen enjoyed the season and said that it has been awhile since she’s lost a decent size senior class in the seven years that she has been coaching the Lady Tigers, saying it will be tough to come back next year but she has a good group of kids coming back.
