During their September 10 meeting, Globe’s City Council approved joining in on the existing Good Neighbor Agreement between Resolution Copper and the Town of Superior.
By entering into the agreement, which was formally adopted and signed in early 2024, the City of Globe will join other communities and organizations that have signed onto the agreement, including Miami, Kearny, Winkelman, Top of the World, Queen Valley, Gila County, Pinal County, Superior Unified School District, Superior Chamber of Commerce, Rebuild Superior, Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center and Boyce Thompson Arboretum.
By entering the agreement, the City will also become a member of the Community Working Group created by Resolution with the Town of Superior. “The purpose of the working group is to enhance communication and support between Resolution and the communities impacted by mining activities,” the meeting agenda stated.
