In their October 8 meeting, the Globe City Council approved a Notice of Intention to increase water and wastewater rates and fees.
“Water and wastewater rates need to be increased from time to time to cover increases in operational expenses and infrastructure replacement costs,” City staff reported to
Council approval of the Notice of Intention is just the first step in the process. A full presentation on the proposed rate increases will take place at the next available Council meeting. A public hearing, where residents can voice their thoughts on the proposal, will be held during the November 12 Council meeting. A second public hearing will follow at the December 10 Council meeting.
Council will then consider final adoption of the rate changes in their Jan. 14, 2025 meeting. If approved, the increased rates would become effective March 1, 2025.
