Ernest C. Herrera, affectionately known as Ernie, was born on Aug. 5, 1953, to Jesus and Emilia Herrera. He grew up with two brothers and one sister. On Dec. 6, 1978, Ernie married Janet Y. Herrera, and together they were blessed with four children: Brianne, Matthew & Savannah, Philip, and Isaac. Ernie was also a proud grandfather to eight grandchildren: Markell & Ambria, Alejandro, Olivia, Audrina, Jesceliya, Estevan, Mia, and Gabriel. A devoted family man, Ernie worked tirelessly at BHP to provide for his loved ones. He dedicated much of his free time to his church, reflecting his deep faith and commitment to his community. As he grew older, Ernie cherished every moment spent with his family, finding immense joy in their company. Known for his warm and welcoming nature, he touched the lives of everyone he met with kindness and love. Ernie will be preceded in death by his beloved parents, Jesus and Emilia Herrera, on Dec. 4, 2024. His memory will live on through the family and friends who were blessed to know him.
Services will be at Living Waters Christian Church Dec. 14, 2024 at 11 a.m. Address is 125 E. Haskins Rd., Globe, AZ.
