Donald Judge Strickland

Posted

It is with heavy heart that I share the passing of my beloved twin brother Donald Judge Strickland on May 17, 2025, in Aurora Colorado.

Donald was born on October 13, 1952 in Globe, Arizona to Dorothy Ellen Strickland and Judge Daniel Strickland of

Claypool, Arizona.  He passed away peacefully in Aurora, Colorado with his brother and sister-in-law at his side.

He grew up attending George Washington Elementary School and graduated from Miami High School in 1970. "Once a Vandal always a Vandal".

As young kids we were very involved in sports, played little league baseball, he played football at Miami High. We would play basketball for hours in the back yard. We played city league for Claypool deli and won numerous championships and tournaments from 1973 through 1980. The Claypool deli city league basketball team was one of the best teams to come out of the area. All his life he followed sports whether it be baseball, basketball or football.  He loved the Arizona Cardinals, Diamondbacks and the Phoenix Suns.  He was a haul pack driver for 9 years at Inspiration Copper.  He also worked at Round mountain, Nevada as a truck driver for two years.

He is survived by his brother Thomas Daniel Strickland (Kris) of Claypool, Niece Jodee Jones (Dan) of Hawaii, Tammy Hibbitt (Geoff) of Peoria, six nephews and one niece and Aunt Jackie Faulkner (Dave). He is preceded in death by his Father and Mother.

There will be a Celebration of Life to be announced later.
