It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our beloved mother, Annie L. Madrid, who left us on February 20, 2025 at the age of 84. She was a devoted and loving mother to eight children, a cherished grandmother, a kind-hearted friend, a lifelong faithful Catholic and a compassionate soul who touched the lives of everyone who knew her.
Born on 12/3/1940 in Miami, AZ to Felix and Elisa Laurias, Annie spent her life raising her 8 kids and 2 of her grand children. Her love for those she raised knew no bounds, she instilled in each of them the values of strength and perseverance. As a mother, she was both a guiding light and a comforting presence, she encouraged us to be active and take up sports, always attending our games, offering support, and cheering us on.
Annie was a woman of strong faith, she was the Office Manager at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church for 45 years where she worked until the day of her passing. She devoted herself to her family, often putting their needs above her own, and never hesitated to lend a hand. She could often be seen at her sewing machine, mending or making clothes not only for her kids but for her extended family and friends.
She leaves behind her children Anita, JoAnn [Denny], Christine, John [Margaret], Michael, Corrina, Ruben, Ben [Tori], Ashley, Arianne (2 of her grandkids) and their families, a total of 16 grandkids, 20 great-grandkids with one on the way and many friends who will all miss her dearly. She was predeceased by her sisters Mickey (Odelia) and Aveline, grand kids Harly Sellers and Michael McDevitt and Johnny, her husband of 47 years.
We will forever carry her memory in our hearts, and she will be missed beyond measure.
Funeral service will be held on March 22, 2025 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church. Visitation will be at 9am, followed by a Rosary at 9:30am and mass at 10am, a luncheon will follow at the church hall.
She didn't want us to wear black but to wear something colorful to represent her eternal life of joy with our Lord and Savior, so we ask that you wear something green as that was her favorite color.
May she rest in peace, knowing that she was deeply loved by all who knew her.
