Gila County School Superintendent Roy Sandoval’s staff have administered 226 tests at the Globe testing center so far this year, a success story that documents program improvements over time and demonstrates the value of GED/HSE and Adult Education programs. Success stories can be a useful tool for educating our community about the outcomes of the work we do and the results we are achieving.
Here’s one success: A student completed the classroom studies and successfully passed all five GED required tests; two weeks later the student was employed at a local grocery store making close to $20 per hour. Another student completed the testing and has been accepted at Florida State University. A student father mentioned having a hard time working through communications and getting GED testing availability during the Covid-19 pandemic, then he found us here in Globe as we remained open during the pandemic. This student completed his GED/HSE, found a great job in the Phoenix area and is making $20.50 per hour. His father took time to thank staff for all that they did for his son. In choosing a challenge to change your life, remember that most programs undergo varying states of capacity, maturity, and accomplishment. Be diligent, be prepared to work, and then be willing to achieve your goals.
