Last Monday night, Miami’s Town Council approved a new police department policy, as well as a redesigned MPD uniform patch/logo, and voted to table agenda items related to Town Manager Alexis Rivera.

A pair of grant awards totaling $185,000 will help the City of Globe to preserve and improve two of the city’s attractions – one centuries old and the other newly restored. During their November 14 meeting, the Globe City Council approved the awards.

A three-year-old girl reported missing north of Globe last Thursday was found safe later that night after an hours-long search and rescue operation.

Last Wednesday, in partnership with the Gila County Health Department’s AZ Health Zone, the nonprofit Borderlands Produce Rescue brought their Produce On Wheels Without Waste (P.O.W.W.O.W.) program to Globe-Miami for the first time – and it all got started through browsing TikTok.

Austin Louis Payne, of Globe, passed away at the age of 45 years old on Tuesday, Oct. 31, 2023.
