Joseph Edward “Joe” Gilmore III, 69, of Globe, Arizona, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, Dec. 1, 2023, at Banner Desert Medical Center in Mesa, Arizona.

On Monday, Dec. 18, 2023, Mary Kathleen (Kathy) Razo, a dear wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, daughter and sister, sadly passed away at the age of 68 years.

Louise Gillock, age 94, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, Jan. 23, 2024.

The top two girls’ varsity basketball teams in section 2A Valley, the San Carlos Lady Braves and Miami Lady Vandals, met for the second time this season Friday night in a packed San Carlos High gym.

Reginaldo Antonio Cons, 87, passed on Dec. 11, 2023, in the traditional custom of the Cons family, surrounded by those he loved.

Bullion Plaza Cultural Center & Museum held a grand opening on Jan. 13 for an impressive new exhibit, transferred from Tempe to Miami. The event included private tours of the museum, a catered lunch and a Globe-Miami Chamber of Commerce ribbon cutting.

This month the Gila County Board of Supervisors once again approved an economic development grant that will help keep Copper Mountain Transit, which provides residents with fixed route transport and dial-a-ride service in its two vans, running.
