Yolanda C. Aguirre Parra, 64 of Las Vegas, Nev., passed away June 28, 2017 surrounded by her loved ones. She was born in Globe/Miami, Arizona on July 25, 1952 to John and Olivia Aguirre.

Four brothers and six sisters, one daughter, three granddaughters, one grandson and one great-grandson.

Yolanda was known to many by “Londie” and was raised throughout her young life in Globe, Arizona. Yolanda moved to Los Angeles, Calif. where she worked for the University of Southern California where she met her late husband Joe Amador and had their daughter Michelle. After Joe’s passing she moved back to Globe to be closer to her family she then worked for Copper Rim Elementary and acquired many more close friends. Yolanda then moved to Mesa, Arizona where she continued her career with Arizona State University.

Yolanda met her now husband Leopoldo “Polo” Parra and married for 24 years. Yolanda has fought a long battle with her illnesses with family and many friends by her side.

Yolanda is preceded in death by her parents, John and Olivia Cienfuegos Aguirre; grandmother, Soyla Cienfuegos; late husband, Joe Amador; sister, Lucy; brothers, Richard, Frank Aguirre; and granddaughter, Katrina Zepeda.

Surviving family members include her husband, Leopoldo Parra; daughter, Michelle (Adrian) Zepeda; granddaughters, Alexis Centeno, Olivia Zepeda; grandson, Adrian Zepeda Jr.; great-grandson, Jiermo Zepeda; and sisters, Eva (Beto) Munoz, Teresa Aguirre, Sylvia (Frank) Lechuga, Gloria (Joe) Merino and Jean (Jerry) Hansen.

Yolanda will be sorely missed by many but not forgotten.

“No one is to cry over me and I want to hear the laughter in the air,” Yolanda Parra.

Mass of Christian burial was held on Saturday, July 8 at Holy Angels Catholic Church in Globe.
