John Yanez is considering planning a 6-day trip to Washington, DC and NYC if there is sufficient interest in the community. The trip will cover many highlights of both cities.

In DC, the tour will take in the Capitol and Lincoln Memorial, as well as the WWII, Korean and Vietnam memorials. Additionally, there will be a visit to the Arlington National Cemetary and the Grave of the Unknown soldier, George Washington’s plantation on Mount Vernon and the historic town of Alexandria.

Finally, the group will spend time at the Smithsonian Complex as well as other sites.

The New York City portion of the trip will include the Empire State Building, a trip on the ferry to view the Statue of Liberty and a stopover at Ellis Island.

In Lower Manhattan, the group will visit One World Trade Center as well as the 9/11 Memorial. Time Square, Saint Patrick’s Cathedral and other sites will be included as well. The tour will end with a panoramic bus tour of the city with special stadium seating to ensure good viewing by everyone.

Final details are still in the works, but initial cost estimates are $3,000 to $3,500 per person. It is an adult trip that will be done at a leisurely pace.

Students are allowed, as long as they are accompanied by a parent or grandparent. The cost will be the same as an adult.

Price includes airfare, hotels and some meals and is led by a professional tour guide in a private motor coach.

Anyone interested in the trip who would like to be added to the list should contact Yanez at 928-425-4933. Leave a name and number for a return call.
