Willis Edward “Gus” Fleener, age 85, of Globe, Ariz. passed away on Feb. 12, 2017 at Haven of Globe. He was born in Wasioja, Minn., the son of Vera Granger and Howard Fleener.
He worked as an elementary teacher for 38 years. He served his country proudly in the U.S. Navy.
Gus was preceded in death by his parents, Vera Granger and Howard Fleener.
He is survived by his children, James Fleener of Phoenix, Ariz., Mark Fleener of San Marcos, Calif., and Steve Fleener of San Diego, California; sisters, Marine Iverson of Modesto, California, Katherine Techam of Deer Creek, Minnesota, five grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is being held at St. John’s Episcopal Church in Globe on Saturday, March 25, 2017 at 11 a.m. Burial of cremains will be on July 16, 2017 in Wasioja, Minn.
