Virginia Kay “Ginger” Gore

Posted

Virginia Kay “Ginger” Gore (Tomerlin) was called to rest on Nov. 24, 2022. She passed peacefully surrounded by her loved ones on Thanksgiving evening. Appropriate for Ginger as she was a giver and we are all thankful for her! She has joined her love of her life, Albert Jesse “Tug” Gore, Jr., now and we find peace in their soulmate reunion.

She was born in Miami, Az. on Aug. 20, 1954, the daughter of Jacqueline (LeMoine) and Melvin Tomerlin.

Siblings: Jesse Maxwell, George Maxwell, Floyd Maxwell, Mary Cogburn and Melva Froman

Children: Melody Gore, Charity Johanning (Rich), Alta Runyan (John) and AJ Gore (Cate)

Grandchildren: Breanna Nicole Griego, Noah Horton, Catrina Elaine Gore, Matthew Johanning and Albert Jesse Gore IV

And countless other kids she adopted – she called them all her “bunnies.”

Ginger had such a quick wit and extensive vocabulary that made conversations with her a joy and/ or learning lessons. Many cousins have stories on the lessons she taught when they used words they couldn’t spell or define! She loved animals, cooking and taking care of others. She was an avid collector of Beatrix Potter and bunnies. She helped nurture many, and her bunny room and books uplifted all.

Many will miss her excellent meals, laughs, stories, and inclusion she offered. She showed us all how to be our authentic selves with no need to conform. Her spirit lives on in all that she touched, and know when you see bunnies she’s thinking of you!

Fly free, our Una Paloma Blanca! Until we meet again know we will all represent you!

Private ceremonies to be handled by the family.
