Verna Lucille Chubbuck, 104 years young, of Phoenix Arizona passed away on May 16, 2018. Born February 14, 1914 in Minneapolis Minnesota, she grew up in Los Angeles California, married, moved to Boston, Massachusetts then to Arizona where they started “Chubbuck’s Diary” in the Globe-Miami area. They delivered milk and other dairy items door-to-door from 1948 through 1966. She then retired to Phoenix, Arizona, where she was currently living with her granddaughter. With her children she was active in Scouts, Masonic youth organizations, school and St John’s Episcopal Church. She belonged to Women’s Business Club, the Chamber of Commerce, Women’s Club and the Country Club. She did all these things while working in the family dairy and raising her family. She was proud to be a member of the Order of the Eastern Star for 71 years. She belonged to Malden Chapter #66, Miami Chapter #25, Scottsdale Chapter #43 and currently Peoria Chapter #59 where we had four generations of mother daughters belonging to the same chapter. She also belonged to Daughters of the Nile, Pageantry in Scottsdale. She was active in the community volunteering at John C Lincoln Hospital and working on the elections. She played cards with several groups. Preceded in death by her husband Edward “Chubb”; son Robert; daughter Dawn, and grandson Eugene “Gene.” Survived by her son John “Dennis”; seven grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren and 17 great-great-grandchildren. She was a wonderful, wife, mother and grandmother. She was especially adored by her husband, children and grandchildren, we will miss her more than words can express. A memorial service was held at Chapel of the Chimes Mortuary in Glendale Arizona, on May 24.
