Vera Gene Butler

Vera Gene Butler passed away peacefully on July 5, 2017 at the age of 95, at her home in Miami.

She was born on May 3, 1922 to George and Dora Buzzard in Mayport, Penn.

As a young woman, she moved to Muskegon, Michigan where she met Melvin Butler. They were married on Jan. 22, 1946. They raised a family and Melvin passed away in June 1979.

She has lived in Arizona since August on 2002.

Vera loved to hunt and fish. She gave up deer hunting at the age of 64, when it became too strenuous. She still enjoyed fishing until age 86.

Vera was proceeded in death by her parents ,George W. and Dora M. Buzzard; husband, Melvin B. Butler; and brothers, Wilbur Buzzard and John D. Buzzard.

Vera is survived by her sister, Jennie B. Wensel of Shippenville, Penn.; children, Frank E. (Hiroko) Butler, of Fruitport, Mich., Sandra L. (Richard) Toumey, of Vail, Thomas A. (Cindy) Butler, of Miami, Romona J. Williams, of Manistee, Mich., and Clark B. (Janette), of Soldiers Grove, Wis.

Vera is also survived by many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren.

Services will be private for Mrs. Butler and interment will be next to Melvin in Muskegon, Mich.
