The Miami High School Vandals opened their 2023-24 football season with a home loss to the Veritas Prep Falcons, falling to the visitors from Phoenix 42-6. The Falcons entered the game, which was played Saturday night at Globe’s Harbison Field due to ongoing renovation of Ragus Field in Miami, 1-0. Veritas Prep outscored Miami 28-0 in the first half, and 14-6 in the second.

The Vandals’ next game is on the road against the 2-0 Scottsdale Prep Spartans, on Sept. 1.
