Valerie Lynne Hereford was born Nov. 3, 1960 in Globe. She died Oct. 22, 2018 at her cousin Kelly’s home in Globe. She graduated from Globe High School in 1978.
For many years, she was a legal secretary, first in Washington, D.C. with the law firm of Hogan and Hartson. She then moved to Phoenix and worked at the law firm of Snell and Wilmer. Valerie returned to Globe and worked for the City of Globe and then the County Attorney’s office.
Valerie had a kind and gentle soul. She loved her family and friends, music from rock to classical and reading.
Valerie is survived by her mother, Linda (McPherson) Hereford; her uncle Larry (Barbara) McPherson of Santa Maria, Calif.; her aunt Ellen (john) Strapac of Austin, Texas. She also survived by her cousins, Kenny (Lorie) Lawrence of Phoenix; Kelly (Oscar) Andrade of Globe; Greg (Bonnie) Lawrence of Ottawa, Kans.; Chris (Claudia) Aune of Austin, Texas; and Brian Mcpherson of Santa Maria, Calif.
Valerie was preceded in death by her father, John Hereford; her grandparents, Harold and grace McPherson; her grandfather, Jack Hereford; and her aunt, Karen (McPherson) Lawrence.
Memorial services for Valerie were held at St. Peter’s Lutheran Church, at 630 N. Devereaux St., Globe, on Tuesday, Oct. 30, at 10:30 a.m. Donations in Valerie’s name may be made to St. Peter’s Lutheran Church.
