Uvalda M. (Mabel) Mani, 101

Uvalda M. “Mabel” Mani, age 101, a resident of Claypool, Arizona, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 7, 2018.  Mabel was born to her beloved parents, Adolfo and Luisa Medina on May 6, 1916 in Indio, California.  In 1938, she married her loving and devoted late husband, Anastacio Mani.  Together they raised five (5) children and she loved being a full-time homemaker.  In 1962, the family relocated to Santa Ana, California.  When the children were old enough and in school, she worked as a nurse’s aide at St. Joseph’s Hospital in Santa Ana, California.  They later relocated back to Miami, Arizona in 1972.

Mabel was actively involved in the Latino Club in Miami, Arizona.  She loved to travel and even went to Alaska.  She loved being around her children and her grandchildren.  Mabel was a very loving, caring and warm- hearted person.  She had a wonderful smile and always gave us good solid godly advice.  Mabel was also well known by her family and friends for being a great cook.  

Mabel is preceded in death by her beloved parents, Adolfo and Luisa Medina, her loving and devoted husband, Anastacio Mani, and her daughter, Antonia Mani.

She is survived by her two loving and caring sisters, Mary Lou Lopez and Josie Tavitas; her daughters, Margaret Garcia, Virginia Lafferty, Alicia Carter and Martha Alvarez; twenty (20) grandchildren, and many wonderful and beautiful great-grandchildren that she enjoyed spending time with.

A Rosary will be conducted at 9:30 a.m. with Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 15, 2018 at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church, 844 W. Sullivan St., Miami, Arizona 85539.  Interment to follow at Mountain Breeze Cemetery, 3751 E. US Highway 60, Miami, Arizona 85539. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church in Miami, Arizona at www.ourladymiami.com.
