Traffic stop leads to Meth seizure

Sheriff J. Adam Shepherd would like to release the following information regarding recent drug arrests. 

On January 6, 2017, at approximately 8:14 p.m. the Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle on Highway 60 and Marian Street in Claypool.  A search was conducted on the subjects and vehicle. 

The Gila County Drug, Gang, and Violent Crimes Task Force seized approximately 232.5 grams of Methamphetamine along with various items of drug paraphernalia. The methamphetamine seized has a street value of $23,250.00.

The following individuals were arrested and charged:

Michael John Formiller 62 yrs old of Globe, AZ was arrested for Transportation of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possession of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possession of a Dangerous Drug and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia.

Mark Alan Riley, 53 yrs old of Globe, AZ was arrested for Transportation of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possession of a Dangerous Drug for Sale, Possession of a Dangerous Drug, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, warrant out of the Gila County Sheriff’s Office for Contempt of Court, and two warrants out of  the Globe Police Departments for Contempt of Court.  

The Sheriff’s Office is committed to continuing an aggressive stance on the drug problems that impact our communities.
