Traditions by Selina holds fashion show

Posted

On Friday Nov. 8 there were several events at the Nalwoodi Denzhone Community. Selina Curley of Traditions by Selina held her annual fashion show of traditional Apache attire with a modern take.  Dresses could be worn in an over-blouse style or tucked and belted in for a Navajo Look. Some skirts were short and some were long. Dresses ranged from casual to more formal for evening wear. The fabrics and prints delighted the audience. All of the dresses were for sale. When asked if she expected to sell out, Curley said that she did, and the bustle inside the Nalwoodi Denzhone meeting hall seemed to indicate just that. Mary Kim Titla  and her mother attended the fashion show and left with a few stylish dresses. Robert Wilson could be seen painting a mural on the Reservation Ministries bus. Earlier he had played the flute. A graduate of San Carlos High School, he currently does graphic design for the Apache Forestry department. Clayton Harvey, Anita Lee, Jakob Barlow, Lucy Castillo-Rubio and Rubin Sanchez also contributed their talents.
