GLOBE — Globe Tigers lost a heartbreaker to Safford in overtime. Robert BJ Burres made 21 points flying in to glean a basket or a foul, and Braden Dalton made his presence felt beneath the basket as well as from three point territory garnering 27 points.
In the fourth quarter Globe was 10 points behind, but they came back and tied the game.
At one point in the last minutes, the Tigers had battled to a six point lead and things looked good, but Safford came back and the score was tied when the clock ran out.
In overtime Safford pulled into the lead and won.
The Lady Tigers went down 79 to 50, scoring exactly half of Safford’s points in the first 3 quarters, coming closer in the 4th quarter with a flurry of points from Shawna Talgo and a 3 pointer by Jolainna Bendle.
Kayla Howard scored 16 points in the first two quarters to match Talgo’s score of 16 points.
