Tigers dominate Spartans

GLOBE The Globe Varsity Boys Basketball team opened their 2017-18 regular season Tuesday night with a 109-83 victory at home over the Leading Edge Academy Spartans.  The Tigers raced out to a 28-13 lead after the first quarter and had stretched their lead to 55-31 by half time.  The Tigers won the second half 53-52 to close out the scoring.  Senior Braden Dalton led the Tigers in scoring with 25 points, Juniors BJ Burries and Daniel Widner added 20 and 14 points respectively.  Senior Martine Reede and Freshmen Cory Chee chipped in with 12 and 11 points each.  Junior Brandon Pina added 7, Senior Cameron Taylor hit for 6, Junior Nick Casa made 5, and Sophomore Aaron Smith and Junior Rafael Dominguez each had 4 points each.  “We really had a complete game from our team tonight”, Tiger Coach James Simmons stated.  “I am really proud of the way we shared the ball and had 5 players in double-figure scoring.”  “After playing four tough games during the Thanksgiving Holiday vs 4 and 5A schools, I thought our players responded well.”
