On Tuesday March 5, Superior overwhelmed Miami 20-6 in five innings. In the first inning, Superior was able to put five runs over the plate while preventing Miami from scoring. In the next inning, they scored four runs while Miami came back with two. In the third Superior again scored five runs while giving up one run to Miami. In the fourth and fifth innings both teams scored three runs each. Vandals’ Gabriella Lee had an RBI as did Shelby Blanco, but Gabriela Cabrera brought in two. Skylar Rogers and Mackenzie Anthony, a talented freshman, only walked four batters between them. Next up are home games with St. Augustine (after press time) Morenci on Thursday, March 14 at 5:45 p.m. and an away game at San Miguel in Tucson’s Sam Lema Park on Friday, March 15 at 5:45 p.m.
