On Nov. 7, Zack Ward came to talk to the Globe High School students about movie-making. Ward is an actor, writer, and film director who has been in dozens of movies and TV shows, including “A Christmas Story,” “Resident Evil: Apocalypse,” and “Transformers.”
Ward explained how different hand signals work in the making of a movie and what the different movie terms mean. Ward told the students how to become an extra for his new movie that is currently filming in Globe/Miami. The title of the movie is Patsy Lee and the Keepers of the Five Kingdoms.
Ward answered numerous questions from the students and was excited to tell them that, in this film, “Globe, Arizona plays Globe, Arizona.”
He told the students, “It’s fun, but not fun to make movies. Sometimes I go home crying after trying to edit.”
His crew will be in town for a few more days and students had the opportunity to participate as extras in a Mexican festival last week, and school and prom scenes this week. Several different locations are being used throughout town. Notable actors filming in town are James Hong and Dante Basco.
