Dear Editor:
I recently was made aware of an article about the Miami girls basketball team. The headline was “Vandal Girls Basketball: Winning for the first time in years.” The article was published in the Dec. 18 edition.
The article is blatantly inaccurate. Stephen Palmer writes, “The three wins that the varsity has so far have come with great appreciation. In the past 2-3 years Miami has only won that many games.” I know exactly how many games the Lady Vandals won in the past three seasons, because I was their head coach during that time.
In the 2016-17 season, the Miami girls basketball team won 10 games. In the 2017-18 season, the Miami girls basketball team won nine games. In the 2018-19 season, the Miami girls basketball team won eight games. That is a total of 27 wins in the past three seasons, far more than Palmer’s article claims.
I am not looking for a retraction. I just want the facts to be printed in this letter. Thank you.
Marc Marin
