Globe Active Adult Center update

Legal Aid, Monday 10:30 a.m. April 8. Alzheimer’s support group, Tuesday, April 9 at 12:15 p.m. Stretch and flex at 9:20 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays. Lunch is served Monday through Friday at 11:45 a.m. Ages 60 and over is $2.50 per meal, under 60, $5 per meal. The Globe Active Adult Center is located at 579 S. Broad St., and the phone number is 928-425-9030.

Thursday, April 4 — Exercise/stretch and flex.

Menu: Spaghetti with meat sauce, spinach salad, peas and carrots, garlic bread, strawberry shortcake.

Friday, April 5 — Bingo and crafts.

Menu: Fish fillet, roasted potatoes, spinach, wheat bread, oatmeal cookie, Mandarin oranges.

Monday, April 8 — Open activity.

Menu: Baked ham, roasted potatoes, green beans, wheat roll, cherry crisp.

Tuesday, April 9— Exercise/stretch and flex.

Menu: Spinach lasagna, garden salad, Italian veggies, garlic bread, peaches.

Wednesday, April 10 — Bingo and ceramics.

Menu: Swedish meatballs with parsley noodles, seasoned spinach, carrots, roll, Mandarin oranges.

Miami Senior Center update

The Miami Senior Center at 506 W. Live Oak St. offers lunch Monday through Friday Call 928-473-4190. The suggested donation is $2.

Thursday, April 4 — 10:30 Bingo

Menu: Chicken fried steak, mashed potatoes, zucchini, apple sauce and oatmeal cookies, bread.

Friday, April 5 — Coffee Club 8-10 a.m., Karaoke 10:30 a.m.

Menu: Tuna salad sandwich, pea salad, garden salad, banana.

Monday, April 8 — $2 Biscuit and gravy, Coffee Club 8-10 a.m. Benefits assistance 9-12 p.m.

Menu: Chicken fajita, pinto beans and garden salad, watermelon.

Tuesday, April 9 — 10:30 a.m. Loteria

Menu: BLT sandwich, 3-bean salad, pea salad, fruit salad.

Wednesday, April 10 — $2 Biscuit and gravy, coffee club 8-10 a.m.

Menu: Meatloaf and mashed potatoes, carrots, pineapple, roll.

All meals are served with 1 percent milk.

Miami Senior Center cannot deliver homebound meals without authorization from a case manager. Many people believe that they just have to call the center to receive a meal, but they must be referred through Pinal-Gila Council for Senior Citizens. Call 1-800-293-9393.

The Southern Gila County Economic Development Corporation Active Adult Alliance (formerly Elder Quality of Life Committee) in partnership with American Family Insurance is offering a $2 discount off the senior matinee ticket price for the first 50 tickets sold on Friday, April 5, at Hollis Globe Cinema 4, 161 N Broad St, Globe. This promotion is valid for the first 50 seniors 60 years of age or older.
