San Carlos Boys and JV girls lost to Alchesay on Saturday at San Carlos, but the Varsity Girls dominated and won their game against the Falcons.
The JV boys game went 58-35 Alchesay. Alchesay varsity boys took that game 59-34. And the Alchesay Lady Falcons won the JV game 46-28. The girls varsity game was another story and ended with a score of 68-64 San Carlos.
In the girls’ game San Carlos scored first and never relinquished the lead. They were 16 points ahead (27 to 11) at the start of the second quarter and 14 points ahead with 20 seconds left in the half. With 5 seconds left in the third quarter (54-36) they were ahead by 18.
Alchesay came back to end the game only 4 points behind (68-64), but the issue was at no time in doubt. Alchesay is eighth in 2A northern, but that is a demanding section. San Carlos seemed to be making key free throws and not coming away empty handed on drives to the basket.
