Posted

Rosanna Ramos, age 60, passed away April 6, 2017 in Mesa at the end of her battle with colon cancer.

She was born Feb. 9, 1957 in Miami. “Rosie” lived and worked her entire life in the Globe-Miami area. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and many will remember her as a waitress, bartender and cook in several of the local establishments.

She brought constant joy to her family, friends and customers. She always had kind words for both friends and strangers. She enjoyed making people feel good about themselves and making sure no one was hungry.

No matter how tired she was at work, you would still see her smiling, dancing and brightening everyone’s day. She also was a fiercely loyal fan of the Oakland Raiders football team and could often be found proudly wearing her silver and black.

She is survived by her daughter, April Lopez Clark (Don Clark) of Mesa; by her son, Eddie Lopez (Anne McAuley Lopez) of Mesa; by her ex-husband, Ed Lopez, Sr. of Mesa; by her brothers, John Ramos of Tucson and Robert Ramos of Globe; by her sisters, Dejae Walling and Deyon Ramos-DuFriend of Globe; and by her three grandsons, Aaron Lopez, Jacob Lopez and CJ Lopez of Pocatello, Idaho.

She is preceded in death by her mother, Genevieve P. Aguilera of Globe; her father, Fred C. Ramos of Miami; her grandparents, Pablo and Mariana Acosta of Miami; and her eldest brother, Arnold Ramos.

Her Memorial Mass will be held Friday, April 28 at 1 p.m. at Holy Angels Roman Catholic Church in Globe. A Celebration of Life reception will be held immediately after Mass at the parish reception hall near the church.

In lieu of flowers, her family invites memorial donations be made in her name to the United Fund of Globe-Miami to support hunger prevention and other worthy causes in her local community.

Donations can be made online at https://www.azgives.org/UnitedFundofGlobeMiami or mailed to United Fund of Globe-Miami, PO Box 2160 Globe, AZ 85502.
