Rockin the Block

Posted

GLOBE — The 2nd Annual Rock the Block back to school party was held on Sat., July 15 at the Globe City Park from 6 to 8 p.m.

The event was well attended with plenty of fun for the entire family. Supervisor Tim Humphrey and Globe Chief of Police Mike Nipp took turns getting soaked in the dunk tank and Mayor Al Gameros painted rocks with children that they can hide around town as part of the ‘Globe Rocks’ Facebook page.

There was music and free food along with many booths that passed out information and free supplies along with 500 backpacks filled with school supplies for the school age children.

A big thank you to the City of Globe, Globe Police Department, Miami Police Department, Globe Fire, Gila County Sheriff’s Office, Gila County District 2 Supervisor Tim Humphrey, Gila Community College, Community Bridges, VA Health Care, Gila Count Public Health Department, Globe High School, Rainbow Flowers, Lions of Globe, Gila Reading Council, State Farm Cami Lucero, U of A cooperative extension, and all other volunteers who helped make this event a great success.
