The Copper Basin Coalition, in partnership with local law enforcement agencies and Arizona Youth Partnership, will be hosting this year’s Rock the Block back to school event for National Night Out on Aug. 3 at the Train Depot in Globe.
Our theme this year is a blast from the past…the venerable Sock Hop. Law enforcement agency representatives will be in attendance to meet with the community and helping send off our youth to a successful start of the upcoming school year. Students and families will be able to visit the various information booths to receive school supplies, resource information, and other surprises. As they visit booths, they will have their Sock Hop Dance Card punched by the booths they visited. Filled dance cards can be turned in for free treats from food vendors and then used for the event prize raffles.
• Local Schools: welcome your new students with a table that doubles as a fund raiser for your class or club.
• Resource Providers: this will be a great opportunity to meet with the community and tell them about all your wonderful resources.
• Local Retailers: a great opportunity to reach out to students and their families about your business and maybe even give them incentives (coupons, special promotions, etc.) to create new customers.
• Food/refreshment (non-alcoholic) vendors: provide dining options for attendees. Additionally, we are asking that each food vendor provide an inexpensive free item for a completed card.
There is no charge to participate; however, we are asking, as the price of admission, to provide the requested resources for our event.
