Richard Olvera, 72

Posted

Richard G. Olvera, Also known as “Richie” and “Uncle Rich” was a lifelong resident of the Globe-Miami area and a member of Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church. Richard G. Olvera was born a twin on June 6, 1948 to the late Guadalupe Gomez Falquez and Frank Olvera. He passed unexpectedly on June 7, 2020 at Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center.

Richard was raised by his mother and step father Louis Saenz. His siblings; Soledad Falquez, Refugio Falquez, Ignacio Falquez, Jesus Falquez, Gilbert Falquez, Lucy Falquez Carter, Adeline Falquez Gonzales and his twin David Olvera all preceded him in death.

Uncle Rich endured much in his lifetime, he found refuge and was consoled in his beliefs. Through every hardship and triumph, he faithfully honored and believed in God and the Virgin of Guadalupe. He was a very kind hearted and loving man. He worked hard with no complaints; he would not hesitate to tag along to help with any task. Richard had a shy and bashful demeanor, his smile and soft laugh often used as a replacement of words. He made friends easily and referred to them all as “brotha”. Uncle Rich gave to anyone, even when he had very little himself. His door opened to anyone, a place to stay, a shower or a meal. Richard lived through simple pleasures, listening to music, chatting and drinking beer with friends and family, cleaning yards or hanging out with his nephew Paul.

Although Uncle Rich will be greatly missed, we rejoice and are grateful that he is at peace and in the hands of our Loving God and reunited once again with his siblings, parents and nephew JP.

RIP Uncle Rich.
