Q & A with Esmeralda Guardado

Esmie is a junior at Globe High School.

Q: What do you enjoy most about volleyball?

A: What is there not to enjoy about volleyball! But one thing is just being able to play  on the court with some pretty awesome girls

Q: How many years have you been playing this sport?

A: I have been playing volleyball since 7th grade, so 5 years. They all have been fun years.

Q: What is your favorite class in school?

A: My favorite class is math. It might look difficult at first, but with some good teaching I’m able to get it right away.

Q: What is the best thing about high school?

A: I think one of the best things about high school is that you don’t really get this in prison type of feeling. You get more of this feeling where it’s up to you whether you do what you’re suppose to be doing.

Q: What do you plan to do after high school?

A: I plan to go to college to study Interior Design. I would like to go study at NAU, but if that’s not possible a good college in Mesa/Phoenix will do.

Q: What are your hobbies outside of school?

A: Hobbies? I don’t really have any hobbies, but I do like to work on some volleyball skills at home when I can, but if I’m not doing that I like to chill and watch “Jane the virgin” or “Riverdale” on Netflix.

Q: What other sports do you play?

A: I haven’t played another sport, but this year it will be my first year ever trying out for soccer.

Q: What is your favorite Globe-Miami game memory?

A: My favorite Globe-Miami game memory is one that happened this year, in the beginning of the season. The game was one to remember. What makes is a memory is the feeling that being about to beat Miami in the first two sets felt great. Eventually we had to play all 5 sets to get our victory. We also had a great audience support from our fellow classmates.

Q: What do you like about Globe?

A: Well coming from a person that is not from Globe, one of the things I like about Globe is that it Snows! I have never seen or touched snow until I moved here.
