Private Lane Phillips, Globe High School graduate, class of 2013, graduated from Marine boot camp June 8, 2018 in San Diego, Calif. He received a medal for how fast he could run and a medal for his shooting skills. After a 10-day leave to come home and be with family, he went to Camp Pendleton, Calif. and completed his war fighter training, receiving a Meritorious Certificate of outstanding accomplishments in the school of infantry with his peers having selected him as the Marine they would most like to serve with again.
