After a rigorous application process, Patricia Kinney, who will graduate this week from Miami High School, has been accepted into the Indian University of North America’s summer program at Crazy Horse Memorial in South Dakota.

For eight weeks, she will live and study at the Crazy Horse Memorial’s instructional and residential facility.

Kinney will take a full semester of transferable college courses while working as an intern on-site at Memorial. Meanwhile, she will have the opportunity to network with other high school graduates from around the country and explore the Black Hills. This will be her first visit to South Dakota.

Several community groups are generously supporting the costs of Kinney’s summer collegiate program, including KQSS; Pinal Manufacturing and Karen Donaldson; Globe Rotary; Women’s Auxiliary WAAIME — Arizona Pinal Mountain Section; Tom Foster and the Bullion Plaza Museum and Culture Center; Miami Councilwoman Susan Hanson; Anne Dalley; Miami Mayor Darryl Dalley; Miami Rotary, as well as and several other contributors. Special fundraising thanks to Bryan Sepalla of Resolution, Mary Ann Moreno, Linda Odonetto and Sherry Dorathy.
