Globe — In observance of International Overdose Awareness Day, The Copper Basin Coalition along with Gila County Health Department will host a remembrance celebration to remember those who have lost their lives to overdose on Thursday, Aug. 31 from 7 to 8 p.m. at Globe City Park.
Anyone is welcome to be a part of this event to remember and support those who have been affected by the opioid crisis.
This will be an evening to remember the thousands who have been lost to overdose. No one is immune to the disease of addiction. There will be a moment of silence, a guest speaker and an opportunity for community input regarding this epidemic.
Overdose Awareness Day spreads the message that the tragedy of overdose death is preventable. Wear silver to show your support. For more information contact Chuck Turney at cturney@gilacountyaz.gov
