At the October 24th City Council Meeting, Globe Mayor Al Gameros issued the annual proclamation declaring November 3rd and 4th as VFW Poppies Day. In the proclamation he urged the citizens of Globe to contribute, and to wear a poppy as “mute evidence of our gratitude to the men and women who have risked their lives in defense of the freedoms which we continue to enjoy as American Citizens.” He presented a framed copy of the proclamation to Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 1704 Commander Anthony Hernandez and William and Marge Sneyd. Mrs. Sneyd presented each council member with a poppy.
