New changes to the High Desert Humane Society cat rescue

Posted

GLOBE––Spring and summer always produce a staggering number of unwanted, unwelcome kittens along with feral cats that keep breeding more. Though the feral cats help reduce our rodent population, we as a community need to control them. Hopefully we will be able to find solutions that will help. The community can help by catching some of the feral cats and getting them fixed. HDHS does have a spay/neuter program for the public which involves calling, finding the date of the mobile service and getting the animals in.  Of course, there is a fee, but if it produces less unwanted animals it may be worth it. At least talk with us about it.

HDHS Cat Rescue has gone through some great alterations in our building thanks to some of our wonderful volunteers and would love to have the public come in to see the changes. As usual we always need and want volunteers to help with socializing the animals along with general maintenance. But most important, we would like those who may be interested in adopting a kitten, cat or both, to consider us. As we decrease our current population of critters, we then can help the public whom to circumstances beyond their control, need to find new homes for their cats.  Those that will have to surrender these animals will be asked for a donation fee. Those who are wanting a new family member, we have a summertime special: Kittens are half price at $30 which includes their first shots and a certificate for spay/neuter cost through our local veterinarian.  Adult cats are reduced to $20 and they have all been spayed/neutered. Great deals for both! Our normal adoption fee is $60 per animal, which is still an great deal compared to what other animal rescue organizations charge.

HDHS Cat Rescue now has new viewing hours for our wonderful cats and kittens for the public which are Tuesday thru Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. We are located at 669 N Broad St in Globe.

Let’s work together to help our community save these wonderful animals.
