Miami Police probe shooting death

Monday night, May 31, Miami Police responded to multiple 9-1-1 calls reporting shots fired and found a deceased individual on Adonis Avenue. In the course of an ongoing investigation, a male subject was arrested and booked into the Gila County Jail on charges of first degree murder. In a June 2 press release, the Miami Police Department identified the subject as Adin Gilmore, 20, of Miami. Gilmore was released from the jail on Friday, June 4.

According to the Gila County Sheriffs report Adrian Jordan, age 27 was arrested on June 4 for second degree murder and prohibited possessor charges.

The Miami PD and Gila county attorney has not commented as to whether this arrest is related to the incident in Miami. As of print time, the name of the deceased was not released. The lack of information released is due to an on going investigation.

The investigation remains open and active, and the Miami Police Department is seeking the public’s help. Anyone who makes contact can remain anonymous.

“The Town of Miami and the Police Department sends our continued support and condolences to the family of the deceased during this time of tragedy,” the press release stated. “The Miami Police Department is committed to continuing this investigation till all suspects are apprehended in this case.”

Miami Police Chief Keith Thompson thanked the collaborative efforts of the Globe Police Department, Arizona Department of Public Safety-SWAT, Gila County Drug, Gang and Violent Crimes Task Force and Gila County Sheriff’s Office in the continuing investigation.
