TUCSON — On Thursday evening, Dec. 20, the Miami girls basketball team picked up its second win of the season with a 39-36 victory over Santa Rita.
Jasmin Perez led the way for Miami with 17 points, while Jasenia Quezada scored 11 points. Shelby Blanco chipped in with seven points and Jessica Garcia, Jalen Pike and Mackenzie Anthony all provided strong defense and rebounding for the Lady Vandals.
The Lady Vandals improved their record to 2-7 overall and 2-3 in the 2A South Region. They play in the Copper Cities Tournament on Thursday, Jan. 3 and Friday, Jan. 4. This year’s tournament will be held in San Carlos.
