It is that time again for the annual “Miami Fiesta 2018,” taking place on Saturday, Sept. 8 at the Bullion Plaza Park.
Surrounded by mountains and beautiful weather, we kick off this event celebrating the influence of the Mexican cultural and the many attributes of this rich historic mining community.
The festival provides a family fun-filled day with free live entertainment of music, mariachis, dancers and featuring the “Charro Horse Show,” beer gardens, food and gift booths. The children have a free all-day pass to the “Kiddy Land” rides.
In the afternoon the infamous “Chihuahua Races” take place. A long-standing tradition, these dog races have been described as the “fastest, wild and flying chihuahua’s in the west.”
According to Miami Town Councilmember Susan Hanson, “This year’s race is going to be another spectacular event with fast running, jumping and flying — and that is just the owners.”
Register your chihuahua for the Miami Fiesta Chihuahua Races for $5, pre-registration, or $8 the day of races.
Applications are available at the Miami Town Hall, 500 W. Sullivan St., Miami.
In the evening dance under the stars to the Neto Vasquez Band, with a variety of music for all.
The Bullion Plaza Cultural Museum overlooks the park and welcomes all visitors to come in during the Fiesta and enjoy the very special exhibits and interests of this community.
We invite our families to come spend day bring their blankets and chairs, relax and smile!
The event is sponsored by the Town of Miami and has been managed by Miami Genesis for the past nine years.
