Mercedes “Mercy” Lobato, age 87, previously from Globe, Arizona, passed away on August 26, 2017 in Diamond Bar, California.

Mercy was born on September 24, 1929 in Globe, Ariz.

Mercy was raised in Globe, Ariz. and graduated from Globe High School.  She was a full-time homemaker and a very caring, loving and big-hearted mother, grand-mother and great-grandmother and a fierce protector of them all.

Mercy truly enjoyed being a mother and taking care of her ten (10) grandchildren and her seventeen (17) great-grandchildren. She was always very supportive and active in her children’s activities, Little League and volunteering at the concession stands and she made us all feel so very special. Mercy was also an avid reader of classic novels and the bible. Mercy loved short stories and especially poetry and two (2) of her favorite authors were Edgar Allan Poe and Charles Dickens.

In previous years, Mercy along with her late husband, Lorenzo, owned and operated Casa Lobato, a Mexican food family restaurant in Globe, Arizona, which is now the Dairy Queen. Mercy loved spending time with her family and used her culinary talents to make incredibly delicious meals for all of them.  She was such an amazing cook and all her meals were served with love.

Mercy is survived by her twin sons, Presciliano (Evelyn) Lobato, Francisco Lobato and her son, Lawrence (Doreen) Lobato.
