Mary A. Moreno was born in Morenci, Ariz. on Aug. 31, 1927. She passed away on Saturday, Aug. 19, 2017 at Heritage Healthcare Center.

She moved to Miami at the age of two with her mother, Martina, and her two sisters and two brothers. She grew up where Dick’s Broasted Chicken is now located. 

She went to grade school and high school in Miami and met Clemente Moreno.  They were married in 1949.  She had three sons, Richard, Jack and Tom.  She was a stay at home mom while her kids were small. Clemente worked at Inspiration Copper Company for 42 years. 

When her boys grew up, she went to work.  She worked at Mitch’s Tru-Value, United Jewelry and Nick Reyes’s paint store in Miami for several years. Mary volunteered for the Miami Food Bank and the Cobre Valley Regional Medical Center Auxiliary in the gift shop. She also served as Miami Vice Mayor and Councilwoman for the Town of Miami. 

Years later she was diagnosed with diabetes, which she had for many years but eventually she succumbed to that with other complications. Mary is now in God’s hands. 

She is survived by her husband, Clemente; sons, Richard Moreno of Miami, Jack Moreno of Tempe, and Tom Moreno of Miami; sister, Jessie Campos of Miami and three granddaughters.

A memorial service was held on Saturday, Aug. 26, 2017, at Our Lady of the Blessed Sacrament Church in Miami, Arizona at 10 a.m.

Mary will be missed by all who knew her.
