Margaret Brantley

Margaret Louise Brantley passed away on June 5, 2021 after a long struggle with multiple sclerosis.  Margaret was born in Globe, Arizona on Nov. 19, 1952 to parents Lena Marie Brantley and Oscar Delton (Joe) Brantley.

She was the third of four siblings; Kathryn, Jo Nell, Margaret and Joe. Margaret grew up in Ice House Canyon and continued to live there. Margaret attended school in the Globe public school system and graduated from Globe High School in 1970. She attended cosmetology school and then married. She had four beautiful daughters, Faith Marie, Sarah Louise, Kate and Marie. Margaret loved Broadway musicals, was a lyric soprano and could perform any type of music. She sang for many years with Holy Angels’ choir and was a long-time member of the Copper Cities Community Players. Her acting career was impeccable. She sang, taught belly dancing, performed drama and comedy, and directed. She also styled wigs for the Players’ productions. Margaret worked at the law office of Thomas M. Thompson as a paralegal for more than 38 years. Margaret was a beautiful, kind and gentle soul. She was quick-witted and always helpful and creative. She will be missed terribly by all of her survivors, all her friends. She is survived by her sisters Katy Hall (Larry) and Jo Nell Brantley Thomas (Willy), brother Joe Brantley (Holly), daughters Faith Whitlow, Sarah Holiday, Kate Mammana (Joe) and Marie Brantley (Jim Turpin), grandchildren Stephen, Lena Rose, Christine, Kathleen, Lisa, Paul, Elena and Beth Ann, and great-grandchildren Tyler and Jenny. Margaret is survived by many nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends.

A Celebration of Life to honor Margaret will be held at a later date.

Donations may be sent to the Copper Cities Community Players at the Cobre Valley Center for the Arts. Donations will fund a special project in Margaret’s name.
