Globe High School

On Tuesday, Oct.16, Globe High School had its annual FAFSA Fiesta. But what is a FAFSA? FAFSA stands for Free Application for Federal Student Aid (or financial aid). GHS staff want to help their students on their journey to college so, to encourage student participation, they have a taco night.

The night included prizes, talks about colleges, how to pay for college, setting up a FAFSA and, of course, tacos. Many students won prizes for attending and for completing their FAFSA.

One GHS student won a $10 gift card to Vida e Caffè, another student won a free haircut, another student finished their FAFSA in under an hour and won a gift bag full of University of Arizona merchandise.

Many of the GHS staff helped students and their parents set up their FAFSA. Back to the main event of the night — the tacos. Tacos were catered by Jordan Johnson from Vida e Caffè.

GHS thanks all students and their parents that completed their FAFSA. Also, thank you to the FAFSA Fiesta partners Vida e Caffe, Dairy Queen, Jessica Peace from Kolor Me Krazy, AZ College Access Network, Gila Community College, Eastern Arizona College, University of Arizona and Grand Canyon University.
