Mackenzie Caitlin Ballard graduates from BYU


GLOBE — Globe High School Graduate, Mackenzie Caitlin Ballard recently graduated Magna Cum Laude from Bingham Young University with a Bachelor of Arts in Dance. During her tenure at BYU, she extended her education two years while she took the pre-requisites that would enable her to apply to Physician Assistant schools.

Mackenzie performed with two dance companies at BYU.

During her time on BYU’s touring contemporary company, Kenzi did a semester abroad in China; returned to China with Contemporary Dance Theatre to perform in Beijing at The National Centre for the Performing Arts; and performed in Nauvoo, Slovakia, Germany, Hungary, and Austria She was an Anatomy teaching assistant for her last two years at BYU where she taught in the cadaver lab.

She applied for an  available position in the Heartlink Internship and was accepted into the prestigious program where she screened patients for various illnesses and observed heart/lung surgeries around the world. Volunteers Around the World is a humanitarian organization and social enterprise devoted to improving the standard of living for those who live in some of the most poverty-stricken communities of the world.

She was instrumental in providing communities with access to medical treatment, medication, nutritional security, and health education.

Kenzi applied to the highly competitive Physician Assistant Programs at Still University and Northern Arizona University where she was accepted at both. She will enter PA school this summer.
