Lillian R. Rivera was born Sept. 26, 1922 to Oscar Russell and Jennie McMurren in Globe, Ariz. She was a lifelong resident of Globe.

She married Manuel Rivera on April 16, 1938 and was married until his death in 1992. She was a lifelong member of Holy Angels Catholic Church.

She worked at Copper Hills Motel in the laundry. She also worked cleaning homes. For 20-plus years, she also worked at Gila General Hospital in the dietary department until her retirement.

In her younger days, she loved to go dancing with her husband. She loved watching TV, especially her Polka music shows.

Lillian is survived by her daughters, Diane Tavares and husband John of Mesa, and Dorothy Rivera of Globe. She had nine grandkids and 22 great grandkids.

She's preceded in death by her brother, William Russell; her mother, Jennie M. Gonzales; her husband, Manuel; her children, Margaret Rivera, John (Vecho) Rivera, William (Billy) Rivera, Lillian (Baby) Gamez, and Linda Smith; and her two infant boys.

Services are Saturday, April 8 with visitation at 9 a.m., Rosary at 9:30 a.m. and Mass at 10 a.m. at Holy Angels Catholic Church, with internment at Old Globe Cemetery.
