GLOBE — The Lady Tigers beat the Lady Vandals 14-2 during their home game.
Brian Hudson is going into his fourth year as the varsity coach with returning seniors Corrine Van Burskirk, Kristen Williams, Glory Iyua, and Daniella Lopez who have played with him all four years.
The Lady Tigers have a younger team but a have been putting in the work on the field to be competitive. This year, all the seniors have the same goal, to improve their skills and to go further into the state tournament.
The last three years the Lady Tigers have made it to the first round and lost. They have been training hard and conditioning to be able to outlast the other teams. By the fourth inning the ladies are still able to perform as well as they do in the first inning.
Corrine being a senior is looked to for leadership. When asked if it brought any extra pressure she responded that being an older sibling she was already used to being looked up to. She’s just excited to play and improve her skills and hopefully be competitive at the state tournament.
Glory, another player who is looked up to said it was a little harder for her because she’s quiet and shy. Speaking up will be a challenge, but she’s ready for it.
The Lady Tigers will have a home game on Monday March, 19 at 4 p.m. at the Nosfter Hill softball field.
