Kalil “Kelley” Nawfel 94, peacefully passed away on Jan. 29, 2020 in Globe, Ariz. at Heritage Health Care Center.

Kelley is preceded in death by his sister; Mary Nawfel-Meeks, parents; Sam and Mabel Nawfel, daughter; Mary Elizabeth Nawfel, wife; Stella Nawfel, sister; Anissa Harmon, brothers; Tony Nawfel and Robert Nawfel.

Kelley is survived by his sister; Labeba Gillette, children; Kathy (Jose, “Kiko”) Oropeza of Miami, John (Dianne) Nawfel of Washington, Michael (Vickie) Nawfel of Washington, Margaret Nawfel of Washington. Grandchildren; Kelly (Greg) Spitzer, Diane Oropeza, Joshua Nawfel, Samantha Nawfel-May, Jordan (Kelly) Nawfel, Morgan (Scott) Ensign, Great-Grandchildren; Valente Oropeza, Abram Oropeza, Leighton Nawfel.

Kelley was born on Dec. 23, 1925 in Miami, Ariz., to Sam and Mabel Nawfel. He was raised in Miami, Ariz. Went to Miami High School. He served in U.S. Navy. Following his Navy career went to Colorado to further his education and, where he met and married, Eloise Catherine Jet, and had five children, Kathy, Michael, John, Margaret, Mary.

For many years, Kelley managed the family business “Nawfel’s Frosty Freeze” in Miami, Ariz. He then went to work for Inspiration Consolidated Copper Company until retirement.

Visitation will be held on Friday, Feb. 7, 2020 at 11 a.m. – noon at Bulman Family Funeral Homes Globe Chapel. Interment will be held at Pinal Cemetery Central Heights at 1 p.m.
