John R. Ybarra, 67, of Superior, passed away Monday, April 8, 2019. 

John was born on August 4, 1951 in Miami, Ariz. He was the eldest son of the late Leopolo (Polo) V. and Belia R. Ybarra. John graduated from Superior High School in 1969. On Sept. 20, 1969, he married Susan A. Navarro-Ybarra. In 1969, John began his mining career at Inspiration, Magma, Questa, and Death Valley mines. In 1984, he began his career at Boeing Corporation with various supervisory and procurement roles until his retirement in 2012. John loved spending time with his family and friends as often as possible. John was a cowboy, an avid outdoorsman, enjoyed attending his grandchildrens’ sporting events, a huge fan of Superior High School sports and loved his Gamecocks.

John is survived by his wife, Susan; son Juan (Felisa) R. Ybarra, Jr.; daughters April (Angelo) L. Juarez, Pearl (Ron) E. Roberts, Suzanne C. Peralta and Antonia E. Ybarra; grandchildren, Rudy Betancourt, Andrea Betancourt, Alexis Ybarra, Antonio Peralta, Gabrielle Ybarra, Jayden Fitzgerald, Victoria Juarez, Jacquelyn Ybarra, Savannah Peralta, Payton Roberts, Arthur Peralta, Olivia Peralta, Joseph Roberts; great-grandchildren, Casey John Gonzales and Axton John Reyes; brothers, Michael Ybarra and Leo Ybarra; sisters, Patsy Cunningham, Mary Ybarra, and Belia Sapien; aunts, Gloria Ogden and Guadalupe Emery; uncles, Paul Rivera and Connie Rivera, and numerous cousins, nieces and nephews.

Rosary was at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, April 16, 2019 at St. Francis of Assisi Catholic Church in Superior. Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. Reception followed at Los Hermanos Restaurant in Superior.
